Innovative Thread Insert Technology Pioneers Assembly Revolution


Recently, a third-generation high-performance thread insert independently developed by a domestic technology enterprise has commenced mass production. This product has achieved successful application in high-end manufacturing sectors such as aerospace, precision electronics, and medical devices. This marks a significant breakthrough for China in the field of micro-miniature structural fasteners, providing crucial technological support for the lightweight, precision, and reliable assembly of high-end equipment.

 

Threaded inserts function as reinforced threaded elements pre-embedded within softer substrates (such as plastics, aluminium alloys, or composites), delivering durable, high-strength internal threaded connections. They effectively resolve core challenges including thread stripping, wear, and diminished reliability from repeated assembly/disassembly caused by inherent material weakness. Traditional inserts have long faced technical bottlenecks in combining miniaturisation with ultra-high strength, particularly when applied to composite materials and thin-walled structures, where installation efficiency and connection reliability are difficult to balance.

 

The newly released third-generation product achieves multiple technological innovations. Firstly, the use of special alloy steel and surface nano-coating technology enhances tensile strength by over 30%, while delivering excellent corrosion and wear resistance. Secondly, its pioneering ‘self-guiding progressive’ installation structure, combined with ultrasonic or hot-melt installation processes, significantly reduces internal stresses on substrates. This enables flawless embedding even in substrates as thin as 1 millimetre, achieving near-100% installation success rates. Furthermore, the product range has undergone comprehensive miniaturisation, with the smallest specification featuring an external diameter of just 1.2 millimetres, meeting the demands for ultra-compact internal structural designs in consumer electronics.

 

Industry experts note that the mass production and application of these high-performance threaded inserts directly enhance the structural durability and maintenance convenience of end products. Currently, the product has passed rigorous testing by several leading domestic drone manufacturers and high-end medical device producers, entering their supply chains. It not only reduces equipment failure rates caused by thread failure but also shortens overall assembly time through standardised and reliable connection solutions. This provides robust foundational component support for enhancing quality, efficiency, and self-reliance within high-end manufacturing.
