Wire Electrical Discharge Machining (Wire EDM)
Wire Electrical Discharge Machining, commonly known as Wire EDM, is a precision non-contact machining process based on the principle of Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM).
It uses a thin, continuously moving metal wire as an electrode to generate controlled electrical sparks, eroding conductive materials such as hard metals, alloys and carbides.
Wire EDM enables high-precision cutting of complex shapes, narrow slots and intricate contours with tight tolerances, without exerting mechanical force on the workpiece. It is widely used in mold making, tool manufacturing, aerospace and precision component production.
