Carbide gear broach machining process advantages
In gear machining, precision is a key factor. Due to the high hardness and wear resistance of cemented carbide material itself, the tool wear during broaching is relatively low, which enables the carbide gear broach to maintain dimensional accuracy for a long time. The parameters such as tooth shape, tooth pitch and tooth direction of the gear can be accurately controlled during the broaching process.
For complex shapes of gears, such as involute tooth shape, carbide gear broaches can realize high-precision shape replication through precise edge design and manufacturing.

Moreover, the surface roughness of the broached gear is low and the surface integrity is good, and its surface roughness can reach about Ra0.8 Ra1.6μm. In the cutting process, the carbide broach can remove the material stably without excessive vibration and tearing, thus making the gear surface glossy and conducive to the subsequent assembly and use of the gear.
The carbide gear broach can also complete the processing of gear teeth, splines and other complex shapes in one broaching stroke. Its cutting edge is designed in accordance with the contour of the machined shape, and multiple edge teeth are involved in cutting sequentially, which can remove most of the residual quantity at the same time. Compared with the traditional milling process, which requires multiple passes and tool change operations, the machining time is greatly reduced.
