Cold heading mold:
Cold heading molds bear heavy pressure loads, and their concave die surfaces are subjected to high pressure stress, requiring the core material to have high strength, toughness, and wear resistance. Tungsten carbide with high cobalt content (most grades used for tap core contain more than 12% cobalt, some even up to 25%) can fully meet this requirement. Therefore, all better tunneling molds with long service life use tungsten carbide as the core material, and the outer shell of the mold is made of hot processed mold steel (with a hardness of about HRC 45 after heat treatment). By inserting the core into the shell through cold or hot pressing, the core and shell are tightly bonded, and the shell exerts a certain compressive stress on the inner core, improving the conditions for the use of the mold and extending its service life.High Performance CNC INSERT SERIES
